One of the most talented emerging fashion designer is the Italian Nicola Brognano: born in 1990, he studied Fashion Design at Marangoni in Milan and later he worked for Giambattista Valli and Dolce and Gabbana.
In 2015 he launched his own brand “Brognano” and in 2016 he won the Vogue Italia and AltaRoma competition ‘Who Is On Next’.
His work is really interesting because he combines masculine elements with the feminines ones, and the couture style with the more classical, probably taking inspiration from his previous works. He really likes playing a lot with these types of contrasts but, despite this, the soul of the brand is, in any case, feminine and romantic.
The last collection for Fall/Winter 2019-20 is inspired by the modern Marie Antoinette and we can observe clearly how he matched the styles: a black nylon backpack over a pink tulle gown, gloves and bouffant sleeves with pristine tracksuits, long overcoats and technical trousers, leather coats and glittery heels.
Even in the Spring/Summer Collection he used dress embroidered combined with crop top, huge tulle skirts with sporty pieces like cycling shirts, shorts, swimsuit, surf suits and nylon jacket.
Therefore, Brognano appears to be the king of mixing different pieces of clothing creating a personal fashion perspective.
