Since 1995 the Met Gala is the most awaited fashion event in the world where famous people parades showing off their particular looks.

The main feature of this occurrence is that every year there is a different theme to which everyone must submit.

This year the theme was the Camp: Notes of Fashion and it takes inspiration from the American writer Susan Sontag’s book “Notes on ‘Camp’ of 1964. But what is the exact meaning of this word?

The New York Times described ita s “Love for the unnatural: artifice and exaggeration”.

So, certainly, you have to be extra, out of your comfort zone and of common thinking if you want to, metaphorically, win the best crazy and strange outfit.

The Met Gala couldn’t start better with the red carpet of Lady Gaga not two, not three but four outfit changes: pink cape dress with a bow, black dress with an umbrella, a sexy tight-fitting fuchsia dress and, at last, lingerie and fishnet stockings. With this entrance, she is confirmed again as the undisputed queen.

During the event we saw also looks inspired by Disney fairy like Zendaya as a modern fluorescent Cinderella, Kendall and Kylie Jenner as the stepsister, Katy Perry as the lumiere from The beauty and the Beast, Laverne Cox as Maleficent, Jennifer Lopez as Kida from Atlantis, just to say a few.

For the male universe the most noteworthy were Ezra Miller, with an inexpressive mask that covers thousand eyes on his face, and Jared Leto, holding his own head in his hand.

But as we can suppose, not everyone can, o don’t want, wear an epic look.

We can notice this in the Olsen twins with a non-stravagant black leather dress, some men wearing only a simple suit, too classical and no-camp dress.

Met Gala is not for everyone but everyone can create their own type of art.
